I was born and raised in Washington, DC and later attended Virginia Commonwealth University in Richmond, VA not far from home. Starting art school during the peak of a global pandemic was a huge adjustment and meant everything was remote. I had always considered myself a multi-disciplinary “artist” and didn’t know what direction I wanted to go in. It was during that first year at VCU when I came to realize that film is the amalgamation of all art forms. Over the next few years I was introduced to cult films and revolutionary documentaries that opened up my mind to the endless possibilities of cinema. I ended up graduating with a BFA in Film and Photography and received a minor in Sculpture and Extended Media.
